Many have asked the wonderful question of how I read many books and specifically how they themselves can read more Christian non-fiction books. Today's post is all about reading more non-fiction books that are Christian-based.
In addition to reading the Bible (which I hope you are doing Sis), a believer should also read books during the week (or month) that will edify them, their faith and help build their relationship with God. Keep in mind, reading a Christian fiction or non-fiction book does not take the place of reading your Bible and studying the scriptures, however, it is and should always be an addon to that which can:
help you relate more to the Word.
give you practical tips and ways to apply the Word to your life.
give you a different perspective or viewpoint (from another believer).
help you see that you are not alone in what you are dealting with.
The types of books you read can make the difference of the quality time you have with God, your personal growth and spiritual maturity.
When choosing non-fiction books to read you should know both where you are in your personal faith walk and what you need right now. The type of book you read will always stem from those two two points.
Next, you need to consider a few things when looking at your bookshelf, browsing the library, bookstores or online:
What recurring thoughts or ideas keep popping up for you?
What are you going through right now?
What do you need God to help you with?
What do you need God to reveal to you?
What do you want to learn?
What areas do you want to grow in?
A book that worked for you in one season might not work for you in your current season. A book that may have changed someone else's life may not change yours depending on your level of spiritual maturity and where you are in your walk.
Choose books that fit your current season because they will hit home much more than a book that won't fit your current season or stage of life.
Below I share 10 Christian non-fiction books, plus 3 bonus books, that impacted me personally in my life.
Sis, I pray this post was helpful to you in some way and I pray that you begin to read Christian non-fiction books that impact your own walk.
Blessings,
