Identity in Christ

Good morning Sis!

We are in a new month which means a new time to embrace new beginnings. This month is considered the month of "love". Everyone and anyone is going to be so focused on Valentine's Day. Whether single, engaged, married or divorced we all want something sweet and romantic. This month, however, we will not be focusing on "love" as many others in the world will do. We will be focusing on God and Christ -- as we should Sis!

New Beginnings for January was epic for me and I pray for you as well. However, God revealed something key to me toward the end of our 31-day study of new beginnings. He said: “in order to experience the fullness of the new beginnings and what I have to offer you must first know who you are in Christ.”

Sis, I was blown away by this revelation. It did not occur to me that anyone would not know who they are, but I had to think about it. We all think we know who we are. We all believe our identity is solid, but we really don’t know nor do we live in the identity given to us. We tend to place our identity in temporary, fleeting things of this world.

I don’t know about you, but I know I used to think my identity resided in how I felt. I felt stressed so I am stressed. I felt sad, so I am sad. I even thought the labels people gave me was a part of my identity: a dancer, a quiet girl, an introverted person; but God had to remind me of who I was.

He reminds us of who we are sis:

  • We are all mirror images of God. Genesis 1:26-27

  • We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14

  • We are accepted. Romans 8:34

  • We are chosen. 1 Peter 2:9

  • We are loved. John 3:16

  • We are called and redeemed. Isaiah 43:1

  • We are adopted into God’s family. Ephesians 1:4-5

  • We are co-heirs with Christ. Romans 8:16-17

  • We are seated in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6

The list goes on and on and Sis! We have to make it a habit of reminding ourselves of who we are as His daughters. We aren’t just “normal” girls and women. We are purposed by God. We can’t enjoy all that He has for us without realizing who we are.

Read your Word.

Study your Word.

Meditate on scripture daily.

Learn your true identity in Christ so you can boldly walk into all that God has for you Sis!

I pray this month brings you so much joy, peace and love from the Father as you learn (or re-learn) yourself and your identity in Christ.

Weekly Scripture

"I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

- Galatians 2:20 AMP

With love,
